SUMMER BIN OF FUN
It feels like the middle of June came out of nowhere!!! It’s officially the first day of summer, which I felt is perfect timing to share a fun summer idea. Over the last few years, Trevor and I have made it a habit to keep things like footballs, basketballs, badminton sets and chalk in the back of our cars. This has been perfect for us, whether we just feel like heading to the park or we are hanging with friends and need some extra entertainment. All of these fun things got me thinking, how perfect would it be just to have a tote full of all the fun things for summer always in reach?
So that’s exactly what I did! I headed to Target on a mission for all of the fun things that I could easily put in a bin, for both kids and adults. I found this inexpensive tote that seemed to be durable and picked out the staple items. I grabbed several packs of bubbles, a large box of chalk, a couple balls, a bug net and container, glow sticks, face crayons, kick ball bases, and a jumbo badminton set. I also threw in some wet wipes, sun screen, bug repellent, and a my favorite ever first-aid kit! When I got home I assembled and I couldn’t wait to see it in action.
I can definitely say this is kid approved!!! I first had it sitting on my parents porch when my niece (who is 4) was visiting and it was the first thing she went to. Since then she has asked for me to get it out of the car several times so we can ‘check out all the fun things inside’. I am looking forward to taking this with me to some cookouts and parties this summer. I hope you will join me in throwing one together. My thoughts are that this little bin of fun will be an easy and organized way to keep the kids in your life entertained in all the most fun summer ways! And maybe you too!
Something not pictured is the absolute best big bubble solution. You can purchase it here. These bubbles are always a hit. The reason I picked the rubber bin is so you can empty it out and it doubles as a bucket for the perfect big bubble wand. Fill the bucket with water and follow the direction on the bottle of solution and you will have the biggest bubbles ever! Also, I linked a jumbo badminton BUT I would also highly suggest purchasing a regular sized set and perhaps a net. A few last details: the bug net I have pictured is last from Anthropologie last year, but you can buy a similar one here. The wet wipes I use are Young Living Thieves wipes, as well as their bug repellent! They are simply the best!
I will probably keep adding to this bin of fun because it has already been such a big hit! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out!
Have fun,
Makayla
