FRESHLY SQUEEZED LEMONADE
Can you name a better duo than a hot day summer day and fresh squeezed lemonade?!!? Because right now in the middle of July, I can’t! Freshly squeezed lemonade is such a fun summer treat. I can remember growing up my mom making it for us and it was just always so magical that she could whip something together so fast and it be SO good! A few weeks back I asked my mom to share her recipe with me, which she informed me it’s not really a recipe but a guide, and she learned it from her mom. Of course, you can look homemade lemonade recipes up online, but there is something so special about how moms and grandmas make things, (that I think make them even more enjoyable)! So I had my mom show me step by step what she does and I thought I would share it with you all here!
What you will need:
4-6 lemons
1-2 oranges
1 and 1/2 cups of sugar
Ice and water
Lemonade guide:
Wash lemons and oranges well (also try rolling them under your wrist to loosen the juice up)
Slice all the lemons and oranges in half, squeeze the juice into a pitcher (try using this tool)
Once all of the Juice is squeezed into the pitcher, pour in 1 cup of sugar
Fill the pitcher with cold water. Once your pitcher is filled, taste test your lemonade and add more sugar as necessary. I like mine a little sweeter so I usually end up adding about 1/2 cup more
Slice parts of the remaining lemons and oranges and put them into your pitcher for garnish
Stir well, pour over ice, enjoy!!
