Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I am sharing my guide to a well styled, traveled and cozy life.

So glad you are here!

COME, WE FLY: CARAMEL APPLES

COME, WE FLY: CARAMEL APPLES

Okay so let’s get one thing straight, Fall without caramel apples is just as bad as a virgin lighting the black flame candle on Halloween night (if ya know, ya know #HocusPocus). But really, caramel apples are a Fall treat must!! Not only are they super yummy, they are super easy. You don’t need to make your caramel apples all fancy, you can just simply slice one up and drizzle on top. However, if you are feeling festive (and I hope you are!), you can make Halloween inspired apples for an extra spooky touch.

I like to kind of wing it when it comes to making stuff like this. I really don’t feel like you can mess it up!

But for starters, here is what you’ll need:

  • Apples (We used eight Honeycrisp)

  • Three bags of caramels

  • Heavy whipping cream

  • Any toppings that you like!

What to do:

  1. Clean and prep your apples, placing them on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper

  2. Unwrap and place your caramels in a bowl

  3. Dump 2 tablespoons of Heavy whipping cream into the bowl

  4. Place the bowl in microwave and turn on for 30 seconds. I melted my caramels in 30 second intervals, stirring in between. Make sure to mix them well so that they all begin to melt. Don’t be afraid to add more whipping cream if you feel like you need it.

  5. Once your caramels are melted you can begin dipping your apples into the caramel

Note: MOVE QUICKLY. Caramel dries very fast, so make sure to move fast and efficiently to avoid a sticky mess. Because no one wants that!

  6. Once you have dipped your apples and covered it well, you can immediately place on your parchment paper, or add your topping of choice.

  7. When all of your apples are covered, place them in the fridge for them to get stiff and then eat them as you please!

If you want to add flying witches to your apples like mine in the pictures above:

  1. Click on this WITCH SILHOUETTE DOWNLOAD

  2. Save the file to your computer, and print it out

  3. Once printed, cut out the number of witches you need

  4. Go outside and find small twigs. Make sure to cleanse them well after you bring them in. I wiped mine down with Clorox wipes and then washed them down with Dawn dish soap prior to use and let them dry well ahead of time

  5. Once you have the two pieces prepped and ready, you can then use a hot glue gun to glue the witches to the twigs for a flying effect

  6. To get the twigs in the apples, I pre-poked a whole in the apple and slid the twig down into the whole when I was ready and TA DA, the witches go riding!

I hope you enjoy!
