MOTHER DAUGHTER PHOTO SHOOT

MOTHER DAUGHTER PHOTO SHOOT

If you’ve met me before, it’s most likely you’ve heard me talk about my family, especially my mom. My mom means more to me than I can even put into words. I really don’t know how I could live in a world without her, the thought of it makes tears well up in my eyes. She is the kindest, hardest working and most giving person I know. Even though I fear a life without her, I often remember back to a time when I nearly did lose her. In the early 2000’s a scan showed that my mom had an hepatic aneurysm that caused her to go through an extensive surgery to have it repaired. After a long six months of a difficult recovery, an MRI showed that my mom had a brain tumor. Luckily, it was benign (non cancerous) and operable. Even though there are a lot of factors that could have made her situations worse, it took a major toll on her and my family.

When these events occurred, I was about seven years old, and my brother was five. My mom wrote letters to both of us in case she never got the chance to see us grow up. Looking back, I am not sure how she managed to go through all of that. This past summer, due to her surgical history she had to have her gallbladder taken out (what we have been calling the ‘old-fashioned’ way) with major surgery. I was able to be with her that entire time in Pittsburgh, which I am so thankful for. It was in that time I realized I don’t have very many recent pictures with my mom and I needed to change that ASAP. So when a local photographer reached out, I was beyond excited to work with her for some mother-daughter photographs.

These pictures are something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I wanted to share them on the blog for you all to hopefully inspire you to go out and have some taken with the special people in your life. To capture your current season of life, whether you’re currently starting your own family, have little ones running around, have aging parents, or even precious pets.

A little over a week ago I lost someone close to me, very suddenly and unexpectedly. They were in the sweet spot in life, with a beautiful family of four young children. They had every intention of watching them all grow up, but sometimes God has a different plan for our lives. So let this post serve as a reminder to do the things you have always wanted to do, make the little things BIG things. Take more pictures with your loved ones, plan more dinners, setup lunches and coffee dates with all the special people you have in your life. It is so easily forgotten that time the moments you are in now won’t last, and tomorrow isn’t promised.

If you happen to live in the Crawford County, PA area I would HIGHLY suggest reaching out to Katie Dewalt. She is a amazing at what she does, and the pictures above are proof.

You can contact Katie at 814-720-7557. She is currently booking fall photo shoots for the month of October.

Make it happen!

Makayla
