TRICK-OR- TREATS
Happy October!!!! I can’t believe it’s finally fall and the fact that we are already two weeks in!! I feel like I wait all year for October to arrive, so when it does I try to make the ABSOLUTE most out of it! From picking apples, buying way too many pumpkins, decking home out with all of the coziest Halloween decor, maybe a corn maze and a pumpkin flavor coffee or two - I can’t let it pass by without enjoying all of the things I adore most about this season. Besides all of the festivities, one of my favorite parts of this time of year is spending a lot of quality time with friends and family. I am putting together a list of some of my favorite treats that I have brought to life the last few years, as well as some others I have spotted on Pinterest in hopes you can make and share for all the fun fall things!
Festively decorated charcuterie boards!! The options for these are endless. You can simply use a plain cheese board and add decorative accents, like plastic spiders, googly eyes, pumpkin candies, etc. I love the look of this one, with a more subtle vibe. Or you can find a board that stands as the theme, like I did above. I purchased the spiderweb board a few years back from Nordstrom Rack, and I don’t believe they make it anymore. However, there are still tons of cute options out there like this pumpkin board, that will never go out of style. And last, but not least you can go full out and bring the Sanderson Sisters back to life, like I did a few weeks ago.
Festive Baked Goods: Some of the festive baked goods I’ve seen while scrolling through social are absolutely insane!! It’s so fun to see what people can come up with. Last year I made this simple ‘Spooktacular Sheetcake’ that is very easy to whip together. This year I am feeling the need to make some Halloween themed cookies, I’ll be using these for some inspiration!
Make and Take Treats: I made these caramel apples last year and they were the biggest hit, not only were they wicked cute they were so good! Another great idea if you are having a family get together is to setup a caramel apple bar, so everyone can make their own! You don’t even have to do full apples. Use an apple slicer to cut apples, insert sticks and dip as you go!
You can catch some of my creations from last year in the October issue of Colorado Parent Magazine. They have put a perfect guide on fall-ing with your kids! I am loving these Game Day Mocktails for kids. Check it out!
